The universal currency “Euro” applies to most of the European states thus can be used in any country who is member of European Union. €1 is equivalent to 100 cents or centimes. The different € denominations used are €5, €10, €20, €50, €100, €200 and €500 and the coins used are 1, 2 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents or €1 and €2 coin.

There are hordes of French and foreign banks in Paris where you can carry out transaction in between 9:00am and 5:00pm, five days a week. If you want to exchange your currency, there are many exchange bureaux besides some banks helping you with it. It is required to have some personal ID with you to carry on such transaction. If you are a holder of other international cards, you can access the service of other cash dispensers present in the main French and foreign banks. You have choice to follow the instructions in French, English or any other language.

While making currency exchange, there are certain important things which should be taken into account in order to avoid unpleasant surprises. The rates are fixed by Banks and exchange bureaux like CCF, but they tend to fluctuate daily. You can any how make out if the exchange rate is correct or not. The difference between buying and selling rates should be 5% approximately. There will be some additional charges also which includes commission, the form of payment and also it depends on the place from where you are getting your currency exchanged. It is advisable not to exchange small amount of money as the commission will be higher when compared to the sum.
