If you want to discover the streets of Paris by car, then you can either hire car from the car rental agencies or can take a taxi. There are many car rental agencies like AVIS.
In Paris the motorways are defined as ‘A’, national highways are classed “N’ and the small roads are prefixed ‘D’. The traffic drives on the right hand side and speed is limited to 130 kph on motorways. The driver of France needs to have a national driving license, car’s registration document and a red warning triangle. Citizens of European Union are advised to carry along with them Green Card and headlight beams should be adjusted to the right side.
Taxi cabs can be also hired for enjoying personal ride in the city streets. Taxis can be found lined up close to the intersections or metro stations. You can hire those cabs which have their “Taxi” word lit. You will not have problem to move around in Taxi as drivers can speak and understand few words and sentences in English. Taxis take only three passengers at a time. More than three passengers is usually not appreciated. Additional fees is charged incase of extra passenger, pet or luggage. The Taxi drivers will also produce receipts when asked.
