Rollerskating
Skating has become one of the most popular sports in Paris streets. Expert skaters take over the streets from 9:45pm on Fridays. They meet on the esplanade of the Gare Montparnasse and do a three-hour circuit of the city. Other places where you can enjoy skating are the passageway of the Palais Omnisport, Bercy, the Palais de Chaillot and the flat areas behind the place de la Bastille and place du Palais-Royal.

Biking
Paris had numerous cycling lanes and biking is one of the best sports which help you to discover whole of Paris. Bikes can be rented from Bicycle rental shops for an hour, day or weekend. You can also ask for free leaflet on detailed cycle routes from the rental shops, town halls or from tourist information offices. It is best to book in advance for a bike, if you are planning to enjoy the adventure on Sunday.

Horse Racing
Many of the spectators enjoy some of the biggest horse races of the world- the Prix de la République and the Grand Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe. The horse racing is generally held on the first and last Sunday of October month at Auteuil and Longchamp. Paris also offers some major horse-racing events in the month of June at these places as well as at St-Cloud and Chantilly.

Pontoise Swimming Pool
You can have the pleasure of swimming in the pools of Paris by just paying €2.40. This enables you to get the pleasure of diving in any of the municipal pools in Paris. If you posses the carnet of ten tickets, swimming will become extremely cheaper, only if you want to swim a lot.

Tour de France
Tour de France is world’s leading cycling race covering around 3,500 KM. It is a three-week action-packed event which changes every year. It crosses some of the toughest mountain stages and also covers some foreign countries. Cheered by a multitude of people, the last stage or the finishing line is the most exciting stage when the cyclists reach Champs-Élysées. The French President presents the jersey by himself to all the overall winners.

Boules
Boules is a very popular classic game in played over Paris. It is very entertaining game played with metal balls and a wooden marker. The two most famous Boule games are Pétanque and Boule Lyonnaise. The main aim in the game is to get large balls close to the small ones called ‘jack.’ The game can be played in any open place, around the city’s parks and gardens.

Piscine Chateau-Landon
Situated at 31 rue du Château-Landon, Piscine Chateau-Landon has two swimming pools which includes one for children. At the weekends, the pool is open on Saturday from 7:00am to 5:30pm and on Sunday from 8:00am to 5:30pm.

Ice Skating
Ice skating is one of the fun activities which is popularly enjoyed by the Parisians. At Patinoire de Bercy which is at Palais Omnisports, 8 Boulevard de Bercy, you can enjoy ice-skating all the year round. Seasonal outdoor rinks can be found on Place de L’Hôtel de Ville, Place Raoul Dautry and Place de la Bataille de Stalingrad. The entrance is free but skates also known as Patins can be hired for €5.

Palais Omnisports
Palais Omnisports Paris-Bercy at 8 Boulevard Bercy is popular for hosting all kinds of sporting events like athletics, cycling, handball, show-jumping, ice-hockey, ballroom, dancing, judo and motor-cross. It has the capacity to hold a maximum of 17, 000 people.

Cycling
Paris has over 60 miles of cycling lane which has made this sports popular among amateurs and professionals. Cycling is also one of the most convenient ways to travel around in Paris. You can get free leaflets on cycling routes from tourist information offices, bicycle rental shops and also from town halls. Toward the end of June, participate in the grand finale of the Tour de France.

Jogging
Paris has many tailored, green parks like Jardin du Luxembourg, Le Bois de Vincennes and many more where you can enjoy jogging or running. As most of the pathways are fairly flat, the parks and gardens in Paris are ideal for enjoying this activity. If you want to enjoy the activity on the pavement, you surely can but just take care of the busy traffic.

Stade Roland Garros
It is located in south-west of Paris and hosts the French Open Grand Slam tennis tournament which has seen the participation of many world-class tennis players. The event happens every year in the month of May and June. It is the leading clay court tennis Grand Slam and is considered to be highly strenuous tournament.

Rollerblading
On Sundays, Paris enjoys en famille on wheels, which means the streets of Paris specially the area of the central quais of the Seine and the Canal St-Martin are closed for the traffic. For more thrilling experiences, participate in the mass rollerblading which usually on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons.

Rugby
The main stadium for rugby union in France is the Parc des Princes which is located in 24, rue du Commandant-Guilbaud. It is also home to the rugby team Le Racing. The Stade de France which is located at rue Francis de Pressensé in St-Denis hosts many international Rugby matches.

Canal boat trips
The canal-boat rides are also one of the activities adding adventure to your visit. Canauxrama trips between the Porte de l’Arsenal and Bassin de la Villette on Canal St-Martin. The ride takes three hours complete and costs €13. The other stylish vessel to discover canal is the catamaran of Paris-Canal which sails between the Musée d’Orsay and the Parc de la Villette. The trip costs €16 and lasts for three hours.
